Back After A Hiatus
I am finally back at this blog after a long, long hiatus since
my laptop got fried in a thunderstorm. It was very frustrating because I use my laptop for almost everything ... music, videos, games ... and to surf the Internet.
It was very frustrating not being able to watch bellydancing videos on the Internet because watching them gives me the motivation and drive to improve.
I guess that I am slowly improving though it's very frustrating as progress seems to be quite slow. I still can't master shimmies properly and I still look like a chicken walking during my fast Egyptian walk. BAH!
However, I've come to a point where sometimes I don't even realise that my hips are moving anymore ... I just look in the mirror and I'm like, hey, I'm moving and I hardly even realise it...
... but camel while doing small shimmies is still not happening for me. Sigh.
My instructor and friend, Naziehah, went to her new studio today to iron out the final details before she starts her
new packages ... I am considering taking the lessons because the schedule at the gym are SO UNFRIENDLY (*hint* *hint* ... hehe!) for people that are gainfully employed!
I met someone today who told me that in his opinion, bellydancing is very easy because all you need to do is shake your behind. I guess he just doesn't know how much technique and skill is involved in the actual act of shaking one's behind!

Happy to see you again. If you're practicing on a regular basis, you're probably improving, but can't see it yet. Don't worry, it's only a matter of time because you get those shimmies. And you're right, belly dancing is indeed harder than it looks.
Let's see this guy try it and then tell us.. :)
